The command lets you see the layer mask better by turning the image invisible. When you click on the menu entry, a check is displayed next to it and the layer mask's thumbnail in the Layers Dialog is shown with a green border. The layer itself is not modified; you can turn it visible again later.
You can access this command from the main menu through → → ,
Oder im Ebenendialog durch Drücken der Alt-Taste (Strg+Alt auf manchen Systemen) und Klicken auf das Ebenenmasken-Miniaturbild.
Sie können diese Aktion auf die gleiche Weise wieder rückgängig machen, also das Häkchen im Ebenenmasken-Menü durch Klicken auf entfernen oder bei gedrückter Alt-Taste (beziehungsweise Strg+Alt) mit einem Mausklick auf die Miniaturansicht der Ebenenmaske.
